I write, speak, invest, network, and question to stimulate fruitful conversation. Let's talk about human flourishing! It begins with freedom. Holy leisure is the key to human being, freedom and generativity. Please join me in the adventure of realizing Christ!
In His Presence
Each time I see the Blessed Sacrament lifted up, the words conceptus est come to mind. The reality that the Incarnate Christ continually renews His actual, whole, living Presence within the Church, within me, takes my breath away. That feeling of breathless suspense suggests the pause in human history when man’s relentless march to destruction was quietly interrupted by the conception of a Child, who would, in His own being, suspend the sentence of death and lead us to a destiny ‘far beyond Eden’s gates.’ In this poem, I’ve tried to express a bit of the awe I experience in the Presence of that timeless reality.
In His Presence
Newly Incarnate Son,
Seed of the Holy One,
Word uttered deep within,
Innocent of all sin,
reigning from Heaven’s Womb,
paused in the ante-room.
Sentence suspended waits
far beyond Eden’s gates.
Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity,
Present, here, now, with me.
