Charlotte has been weaving poetry and faith together for many years as a spiritual mentor, author, and inspirational speaker. She is the author of Souls at Rest – An Exploration of the Eucharistic Sabbath, Souls at Work – An Invitation to Freedom, Souls at Play – Reflections on Creativity and Faith (in progress), Making Sunday Special, Life in Motion, Dare Your Something, and Elizabeth of the Epiphany. A Destiny to Burn is a collection of her published and unpublished poems, with reflections and reading notes. Some have served as the core of her talks and retreats.
Charlotte’s poetry workshops – Seeing Through Words, Playing with Words, The Place of Poetry in Catholic Formation – have been custom tailored for retreats and workshops, and schools. Her poems, book reviews and articles have appeared in Canticle, St. Austin Review, Gilbert, Thessauri Ecclessiae, the Cardinal Newman Society Journal, and elsewhere. She is a blog-contributor to Catholic Exchange, Catholic 365, Roman Catholic Spiritual Direction, and Catholic Writers Guild.
Charlotte is a founding member of the Family of the Apostles of the Interior Life, the Living Poem Society, the Catholic Creatives Salon, Sursum Corda Polyphony Ensemble, and the Northeast Kansas Chesterton Society. She blogs, consults with non-profit organizations, speaks about holy leisure, education, poetry, rhetoric, creativity and cultural redemption, and directs the Joy Foundation – a small non-profit dedicated to Catholic cultural initiatives (JoyFound.org).

(114 Words) Charlotte became a Catholic 20 years ago, converting from life as an evangelical. Since then, she has finished homeschooling six of her eight kids and published articles, poems and a few books. Souls at Rest – about the Eucharistic Sabbath, Souls at Work – about human freedom, A Destiny to Burn – a collection of her poetry, Making Sunday Special – for Catholic Truth Society about Sabbath-keeping, and Dare Your Something – three dares that could change your life. She has a few other works in progress, is the director of the Joy Foundation (dedicated to Catholic cultural initiatives), worships at the St. Lawrence Catholic Campus Center in Lawrence, and aspires to learn how to operate a ham radio.
(129 Words) Charlotte Ostermann is a homemaker, writer, editor, and poet. She teaches five of her eight children at home on a little farm-to-be just north of Lawrence, Kansas. She has taught classes in Business Management, Drama, Rhetoric and Writing; led workshops on Holy Leisure, Home Schooling, Writing for Good Causes, Better Thesis Papers, Personality Styles, and C.S. Lewis’s Preface to Paradise Lost; spoken for women’s retreats, homeschool conferences, C.S. Lewis study groups; and offered lectures on the Life and Works of Dorothy Sayers, Lewis’ Till We Have Faces, and poetry through a local Christian coffee shop guest speakers program. She has published work in Envoy, Canticle, Hereditas and newspaper editorial pages and is currently praying for a publisher for her book about Sabbath rest, Souls at Rest, among other things.

She is the author of Souls at Rest, about the importance of Eucharistic Sabbath-keeping, and of Souls at Work, about vigorous spiritual growth, among others. She blogs, consults with non-profit organizations, teaches writing and rhetoric, and runs a small non-profit, the Joy Foundation, dedicated to Catholic cultural initiatives. Her poems have been published in various magazines, and now a book of her poetry is coming out in time for April: National Poetry Month. She loves writing real letters, reading with her local Chesterton and Well-Read Mom groups, and discussing any topic related to art and faith at her Catholic Creatives Salon.
