New in 2023: Catholics Communicate Christ and A Harmony of Healing!
A Harmony of Healing:
Faithful Catholics need help navigating the ever-expanding world of alternative healing modalities. From ancient wisdom to contemporary science, the possibilities for supporting and recovering a healthy mind, body, and emotions are mind-boggling. When Church teaching comes up against practices that contradict, or seem to challenge the Faith, we need to understand how to think through the tension. We can be devout and obedient members of the Body of Christ, while learning from diverse sources about contributing to our own health. In fact, we can learn from this process how to avoid spiritual dangers posed by certain practices, enter into humble dialogue with the vast culture of ‘alternative’ health, and sharpen our intellectual immunity to lies and the culture of death. A Harmony of Healing is an invitation to conversation among Christians, meant to promote the health of persons, and the health of the Body of Christ. Find A Harmony of Healing at Amazon, here.
Catholics Communicate Christ:
Catholics Communicate Christ is the beginning of a conversation about a fully Catholic theory of communication. Such a theory…must be a ‘living lens’ through which to focus on and through and toward the human person…. A Catholic theory of communication situates us within the vast story of God’s own communication of Himself. At the same time, it aspires to proved an infrastructural support for participation in the action of that self-communication of God. A Catholic communication theory leaves behind the rather two-dimensional plane of the problem of getting a message across, in favor of a more three-dimensional model in which the means themselves (the messengers, vessels, symbols, or forms by means of which meaning is conveyed) are affected by the Message communicating Himself through them. A simple statement of a Catholic theory of communication is “Catholics communicate Christ.” From here, we can put out into the deep to consider the context, the content, the science and skills, and the art of communicating Christ. “Charlotte Ostermann is a fine practitioner and excellent theorist of education. Those who read these chapters will find them winsome and wise; they are a source of potential delight and instruction for anyone interested in the nature and purpose of education or in practical strategies for educating one’s children or students well.”
–Benjamin V. Beier, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Education, Hillsdale College
“Charlotte has a way of communicating reality in a succinct yet rich way. Sometimes I remember her talk on flatitudes and floatitudes and it still helps me to have a lens through which I can analyze my choices and behavior on a day-to-day basis. She makes concepts that really are quite sophisticated accessible and exciting, as well as deeply personal and meaningful for my heart. Thank you Charlotte for being a missionary of Truth in today’s context! Anyone, not just home educators, can truly benefit from her work.” Brooklynn S.
